Katie Mackay Works

Katie has always had two loves—science and art —and originally received a degree in Computer Science.  Painting and Design pulled her heart strings and she soon found herself with degrees in Fine Art and Fashion Design.  Finding her way to the Arts seemed a natural path with exhibitions and collaborations on film.  She also has extensive grounding in Art History and framing. Her painting has become both intuitive and graceful, radiate confidence.  Today she lives in Atlanta where you can find her in the studio focused on her painting career.   

Katie Mackay is a soulful painter and designer.  Her abstract work is developed with layers of complex composition as well as a strong spirit.  The paintings capture a magic and sophisticated allure that is achieved by applying glazes of oil color until she is satisfied with the placement and design.

She has been painting and creating her entire life!  As a child she would draw figures with fashion from magazines.  With encouragement from teachers, she entered and won ribbons both locally and nationally.  Now her inspiration is primarily from nature where she captures the essence of the land and sea with color and spatial design. Katie Mackay is gaining recognition with Galleries and private collectors.  While some might consider Katie an emerging artist, her skill and creativity are considered a high caliber of accomplishment.
